ESPN FC’s Alejandro Moreno makes the case for Colombia being the best team in Copa America so far and the one that could give Brazil the most problems in the final
Inside the bubble of a major international tournament, it somehow seems wrong — almost an act of treason — to be thinking about the club game. The cold fact is, though, that life does not end with the final of the Copa America on July 7, and that the players are rightly concerned with their club careers and the dynamic they will take into the new season. That especially applies to big names in limbo, like two stars on opposing sides of Friday’s intriguing quarterfinal clash in Sao Paulo between…

With two goals in his first two games for Chile, the FC crew examine if Alexis Sanchez can use the Copa America as a springboard for success at Man United.
Chile manager Reinaldo Rueda has confirmed he will have to wait to make a final call on whether to risk Alexis Sanchez and Arturo Vidal in their last game of the Copa America group stage game against Uruguay.

Sanchez suffered an ankle injury during the first half of Chile’s 2-1 victory over Ecuador on Friday, but the Manchester United forward decided to continue and scored the winner to send the two-time defending champions into the quarterfinals.
Monday’s match against Uruguay will determine…

ESPN FC’s Stewart Robson outlines what it will take for Alexis Sanchez to return to form between now and the start of next season.
The champions have named their weapons.
Chile, winners of the last two versions of the Copa America, have announced their squad for next month’s tournament in Brazil. Of the 23 man party, over half went to the 2016 Centenary Copa — and therein lies the problem.
Chile had a long wait to get their hands on the trophy, all the way from the inaugural Copa in 1916 to the 2015 competition, which they won as hosts. A year later they won the special tournament staged in the United States to celebrate a…

The Camp Nou was generous with their applause for Alexis Sanchez when he came off Manchester United’s bench with 10 minutes left on Tuesday night. It was some noise from 92,000 home fans — and maybe some in the away end too. Not everyone has fully given up on Sanchez at United, of course, but they know a comeback to greatness is a likely as a United one was the other night. Still, Sanchez looked lively in that short spell.

It’s easier to be magnanimous as the Catalans were to their former player…

The future of Manchester United is becoming clearer.

We now know that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be the permanent manager at Old Trafford. A technical director figure may yet be named — possibly an internal appointment, possibly more of an advisor to Solskjaer and executive vice chairman Ed Woodward. Either way, they’ll be sifting through the squad and figuring out who to keep and who to extend. Bear in mind that a number of these players signed contracts with the club retaining the option to…
