Hertha Berlin goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry has praised Jonathan Klinsmann four months after criticising the player’s work ethic.
In March, the United States youth international — son of former Germany captain and U.S. coach Jurgen Klinsmann — was blasted by the Hertha goalkeeping coach for being “too American” and lacking work ethic.
However, Petry told reporters that the 21-year-old, who is under contract until 2019, has improved his position at the club after accepting the criticism and working…

Jonathan Klinsmann has been backed by Rune Jarstein.
Hertha Berlin goalkeeper Rune Jarstein has said Jonathan Klinsmann could not have made a better choice than joining the club despite recent criticism from goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry.
Petry last week urged Klinsmann, the son of former Germany captain and U.S. coach Jurgen, to improve his work ethic and claimed there was “too much American” in him.
But Jarstein, 33, backed the U.S. youth international and said he was still learning.
“He’s a good lad, who has taken a good development path,” Norway…

Jonathan Klinsmann was criticised by goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry.
Hertha Berlin coach Pal Dardai and sporting director Michael Preetz have backed Jonathan Klinsmann after he was criticised by the club’s goalkeeping coach Zsolt Petry.
Earlier this week, Petry said Klinsmann — the son of former Germany captain and U.S. coach Jurgen — needed to improve his work ethic and claimed there was “too much American” in him.
His comments prompted speculation that Klinsmann could be on his way from Hertha just a year after arriving from the University of California.

BERLIN — Jonathan Klinsmann, the son of former United States coach Jurgen Klinsmann, saved a crucial penalty during his professional first-team debut in Hertha Berlin’s Europa League game against Ostersunds on Thursday.
Klinsmann dived to his left to paw aside Brwa Nouri’s attempt in the 87th minute and preserved a 1-1 draw. The result prevented the Swedish club from winning Group J.
