Danny Rose has said racism will continue to be a problem in football as long as offending countries are fined what he would spend on a night out — and he can’t wait to see the back of the game.
The Tottenham left-back was among the England players targeted with chants by a section of home fans during the 5-1 Euro 2020 qualifying victory in Podgorica on March 25, and UEFA have since charged Montenegro with racist behaviour.

Mauricio Pochettino believes Tottenham will be able to play their Champions League quarterfinal home tie at their new stadium.
Spurs have spent almost two seasons at Wembley but, having progressed past Borussia Dortmund 4-0 on aggregate in their European round-of-16 showdown, Pochettino expects the north Londoners to be installed at their new ground in time for next month’s last-eight clash.
“I expect to play at the new stadium,” he said. “I was talking yesterday with Daniel [Levy, the chairman]…

Tottenham’s defence led a robust team effort in their 1-0 win at Borussia Dortmund.

Tottenham progressed to the Champions League quarterfinals for the first time since 2011 after wrapping up a comprehensive 4-0 aggregate victory over Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund with their 1-0 win at the Westfalenstadion on Tuesday.

Leading 3-0 at the start of the second leg in Germany, Spurs immediately found themselves under siege and it took a series of heroic tackles, blocks and saves to stop their hosts from narrowing the gap before the interval. But, just like in the first leg at…

Ross Dyer and Craig Burley make their picks for this week’s Champions League second legs, highlighted by Dortmund-Spurs and PSG-Man United.

Relive the top stops from Week 29 of the 2018-19 Premier League season, including from Bernd Leno’s double save for Arsenal against Tottenham. Mauricio Pochettino says it is grossly unfair that Borussia Dortmund have again had a day more than his Tottenham side to prepare for Tuesday’s Champions League showdown. Spurs were given an early kick-off time on Saturday but Bundesliga leaders Dortmund played on Friday.
“Dortmund, in the first leg they had more time to prepare the game and now it’s the same because they played Friday,” said Pochettino. “We played Saturday and the only way we can prepare is talking — and not talking too much because…

Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has bemoaned referee Anthony Taylor’s failure to punish Granit Xhaka for an early challenge on Harry Kane during Saturday’s north London derby.
Xhaka felled Kane with a knee-high sliding tackle from behind shortly before Aaron Ramsey’s 16th-minute opener, and the Spurs manager feels action should have been taken.
It follows Pochettino’s criticism of Michael Oliver last month, and his spat with Mike Dean at Burnley last weekend, after which he was charged…

Tottenham were indebted to Hugo Lloris, who saved Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s late penalty as Mauricio Pochettino’s side came from behind to secure a 1-1 draw against Arsenal in Saturday’s north London derby.
Spurs’ top four place was under serious threat when Aaron Ramsey scored a 16th-minute opener. Unai Emery’s men looked poised to move within one point of their bitter local rivals, having trailed by 10 points just over a week ago.

Mauricio Pochettino has said Tottenham should be praised rather than criticised for being four points above Arsenal at this stage of the season.
Third-placed Spurs were 10 points ahead of the Gunners this time last week, eyeing the title rather than merely Champions League qualification. But after two successive defeats against Burnley and Chelsea, they are now looking over their shoulder, with fourth-placed Arsenal closing in ahead of Saturday’s north London derby at Wembley.
However, Pochettino…

Shaka Hislop’s power rankings are back and while Tottenham may have fallen out of his top 10, there’s an all too familiar face atop his rankings.

Despite Maurizio Sarri benching Kepa Arrizabalaga after his Carabao Cup antics, Chelsea added to Tottenham’s woes with a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge. Mauricio Pochettino believes his achievements with Tottenham are more significant than a trophy triumph and that it would take a “magic guy” to promise silverware with the club’s current resources.
Spurs’ manager is yet to win a trophy after almost five years with the north Londoners, but he feels it has been even more important to keep the club in the Champions League at a time when the cost of the new stadium has been steadily rising.
“Maybe if [club chairman] Daniel [Levy] said to me next season,…
