English Premier League: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (63′) Burnley 0-2 Arsenal

Arsenal finished the season with a 3-1 victory over Burnley to ensure they finished above Manchester United in fifth place.

A double from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang gave the Gunners control of the game, before Ashley Barnes pulled one back. However, Eddie Nketiah set the seal on the victory in stoppage time with his first career Premier League goal.

Leicester hand Arsenal their third defeat in a row to leave the Gunners’ top-four spot in peril.
Arsenal sunk to yet another defeat on the road as they were beaten 3-0 at Leicester City.
Brendan Rodgers’ team already looked like the better side, before a harsh sending off for Ainsley Maitland-Niles effectively put the game beyond them. A glancing header from Youri Tielemans opened the scoring, before Jamie Vardy added a late double condemned Arsenal to a third straight defeat.

Arsenal’s top four hopes took another major hit in a 3-1 defeat to Wolves, their second straight Premier League defeat.

English Premier League: Ruben Neves (28′) Wolves 1-0 Arsenal

English Premier League: Sokratis Papastathopoulos (80′) Wolves 3-1 Arsenal

English Premier League: Diogo Jota (45′) Wolves 3-0 Arsenal

English Premier League: Matt Doherty (37′) Wolves 2-0 Arsenal

Arsenal were beaten 3-1 at Wolverhampton to leave their top-four hopes hanging by a thread.
Goals from Ruben Neves, Matthew Doherty and Diogo Jota put Wolves 3-0 up before half-time. A late consolation from Sokratis Papasathopolous was probably more than this insipid Arsenal performance deserved.

Positives
The only real positive for Arsenal on the night is that Manchester United’s loss to their local rivals City means that Arsenal still have a shot at finishing in the top four.
It seems ludicrous…

Arsenal secured their first clean sheet away from home this Premier League season and soared back into the top four with a 1-0 win over 10-man Watford.

Arsenal clung on to a 1-0 win against 10-man Watford to climb back into the Champions League places.
Watford were the architects of their own downfall after a huge Ben Foster error to gift Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang the game’s only goal was swiftly followed by a Troy Deeney red card.

Positives
It will be a huge relief for Arsenal to have finally recorded their first clean sheet on their travels this season. They owe plenty to Ainsley Maitland-Niles, who came off the bench to produce a brilliant…

Everton hand Arsenal a 1-0 defeat, leaving them clinging to the 4th spot in the table by goal differential alone.

Arsenal’s top-four hopes suffered a blow with a 1-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday. A goal from Phil Jagielka — who only came into the starting XI because of an injury sustained by Michael Keane during the warm-up — consigned the Gunners to a damaging defeat.

Positives

There wasn’t much to enjoy in this Arsenal performance. Arguably the best outfield contributions came from substitutes Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobi. Perhaps some solace can be derived from another good performance…

Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang saw his penalty stifled late by Hugo Lloris as the 185th North London derby ends in a 1-1 draw at Wembley.

English Premier League: Hugo Lloris penalty save (90’+1) Tottenham 1-1 Arsenal
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang’s tame penalty meant Arsenal were left to rue two points dropped in the north London derby.
Aaron Ramsey had given the visitors the lead in his final derby against Tottenham before an offside Harry Kane won a penalty that he converted.
But Aubameyang’s poor spot kick in injury time summed up his display as Arsenal suffered frustration at Wembley.
Positives
Unai Emery set up the team intelligently, and Arsenal’s disciplined defensive display was one of their best in recent…

Sergio Aguero scored 50 seconds into the match and later added two more to complete the hat-trick as Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-1.
Arsenal suffered an expected defeat to Manchester City, as a Sergio Aguero hat trick helped the champions to a 3-1 win on Sunday.
Unai Emery’s men conceded inside the opening minute, and although they equalised, they never looked likely to end their four-year wait for an away win at a top-six rival.
Positives
Arsenal were outclassed, so it is difficult to pick out positives. The main thing to give fans hope would have been the performance of teenager Matteo Guendouzi, who was particularly…

Samir Nasri assisted on Declan Rice’s winner as West Ham defeated Arsenal at home for the first time since November 2006.

English Premier League: Declan Rice (48′) West Ham 1-0 Arsenal
Arsenal suffered another disappointing away day with a 1-0 defeat to West Ham. Declan Rice settled the London derby with a coolly placed finish, and Arsenal got precisely what they deserved: nothing.
Positives
It’s genuinely difficult to decipher positives after a performance like this. Perhaps the only good thing to come of this match would be if Arsenal’s owner, Stan Kroenke, recognises the need to invest in this squad. As things stand, they simply do not look good enough to reclaim their Champions…
