The ESPN FC crew were full of praise for Barcelona’s offense, led by captain Leonel Messi, in their win over Tottenham Hotspur.

ESPN FC’s Ale Moreno reiterates that Lionel Messi is the best player in the world, and it showed in Barcelona’s dominating performance over Tottenham
A slick Barcelona, inspired by a sensational performance from Lionel Messi, outclassed a weakened Spurs and ran out deserved 4-2 winners. Tottenham, though, were in part the architects of their own downfall, with Hugo Lloris gifting the Catalan side the opening goal inside two minutes. A superb volley from Ivan Rakitic doubled the scoreline, and at the interval Spurs looked dead and buried. In the second half, Tottenham twice threatened an unlikely comeback with goals form Harry Kane and Erik Lamela…

Tottenham’s slump is well and truly over as they eased past a listless Huddersfield.

Tottenham’s slump is well and truly over as they eased past a listless Huddersfield.

Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino looks ahead to his side’s crucial matches against Barcelona and Cardiff, after a hard-fought victory over Huddersfield.
Two first-half goals from Harry Kane gave Spurs a comfortable win against an out of form Huddersfield Town. The home team started brightly but gradually Tottenham asserted themselves and made their dominance tell. Spurs again had the better of the second half but, with one eye on Wednesday’s Champions League against Barcelona, understandably eased off a bit and were content to play out time.

Mauricio Pochettino pointed the finger at his players after Tottenham’s loss at Watford, but the FC crew agree he should be pointing at himself.
Just days after beating Manchester United 3-0 — their best ever result at Old Trafford — Tottenham turned in one of their more abject displays to slump to a 2-1 away defeat to Watford. It was one of those games where nothing appeared to go right. Even being gifted the lead, courtesy of a freak own goal, wasn’t enough to spark Tottenham into life. The defence twice went to sleep at set pieces and the attack wasn’t incisive enough in the last 15 minutes to claw back a point and salvage Spurs’ unbeaten…

It was one of football’s worst kept secrets. For months now there have been rumours circulating that Tottenham’s new stadium at White Hart Lane was running well behind schedule — aerial photographs had suggested a ground that looked far from ready — and that the chances of completing all the necessary safety checks (including several trial games at less than full capacity) before the home game against Liverpool on Sept. 15 was always going to be a long shot.
Now we have had official confirmation…

Most of Tottenham’s World Cup stars featured from the start and overcame fatigue and a inspired Newcastle team to get three points away from home.

Despite not adding to his squad during the transfer window, Mauricio Pochettino feels his Tottenham side are capable of challenging for major honours again this season.
First-half goals from Jan Vertonghen and Dele Alli were enough to give Spurs all three points. Tottenham started brightly and took the lead when goal-line technology ruled that Vertonghen’s header had just crossed the line, only for Newcastle to draw level almost immediately. The visitors regained the lead but were unable to find the third goal that would have given breathing space as they tired.

After a dormant transfer window in which no players were bought or sold, Spurs needed to make…

Ian Darke joins the FC panel to talk Tottenham after Mauricio Pochettino ends the transfer window without making any new signings.

Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino admits the club aren’t likely to add any new additions before the transfer window closes amid links to Jack Grealish joining.
The Premier League transfer window has come and gone, but Toby Alderweireld is still a Tottenham Hotspur player. The question is: do the fans still want him playing for the club?
The first murmurings that all was not well between Alderweireld and Spurs began to surface a month or so after he limped off the field with a hamstring injury during the Champions League tie against Real Madrid at Wembley last November. The rumours hardened when manager Mauricio Pochettino showed a curious reluctance to…

Max Bretos chats with Tottenham and U.S. defender Cameron Carter-Vickers at the LA Clippers training facility about his goals for Spurs and the USMNT.

Last December, Mauricio Pochettino gave chairman Daniel Levy an early warning call over the 2018 summer transfer window. “It is so important to identify our targets,” said the Spurs manager. “And on July 3, when we start preseason, have them here. If not, it’s so difficult for them to help the team.”

Just in case the message had not gotten though, Pochettino repeated it days after the season finished in May, calling on Levy to break his old brinkmanship habits and “be brave, take risks and work…
