Former Chelsea and Real Madrid man Claude Makelele steered Eupen to safety after an incredible last-day finale in Belgium’s top flight.

For the second successive season, Charleroi’s ‘Storm Ultras 2001’ supporters group enjoyed a “Nounours Party” (“Teddy Bear Party”), hurling hundreds of cuddly toys on the pitch just before Friday’s 1-1 draw with Ostende.

Claude Makelele has left his position as a coach at Swansea and been appointed boss of struggling Belgian side Eupen.
The former France international midfielder worked as an assistant coach at Paris Saint-Germain before a brief, unsuccessful stint as head coach at Bastia during the 2014-15 season.
