Lebogang Phiri has become the latest South African to play in France’s Ligue 1 after signing for EA Guingamp on Tuesday.
The midfielder has penned a four-year contract after leaving Danish side Brondby, where he failed to agree terms on a new deal.

The San Jose Earthquakes signed Costa Rica striker Marcos Urena on Friday, boosting a team that scored a league-worst 32 goals last season.

Darwin Quintero’s potential move to the San Jose Earthquakes will not proceed, sources say.
The San Jose Earthquakes have ceased their pursuit of Club America forward Darwin Quintero, multiple league sources told ESPN FC.
However, the Quakes are making progress on acquiring midfielder Jahmir Hyka, forward Danny Hoesen, and forward Marco Urena, sources said.
San Jose had made Quintero’s signing a priority this offseason but ultimately decided to walk away from a proposed deal that would have required a $5 million transfer fee and an annual salary of $2.5 million.
