Burkina Faso and Ghana collide in Friday’s WAFU Cup of Nations quarterfinal, with the Stallions eyeing the regional competition as an imperative next step in their rebuilding operation.

Burkina Faso have parted ways with head coach Drissa Malo Traore, who handled the Stallions’ home-based squad.
The West Africans were eliminated in the first round of the African Nations Championship, which was conducted in Morocco earlier this year, and the head coach has not had his contract renewed.
Traore – nicknamed Saboteur – was under contract until March 31, and the Burkinabe Football Federation have opted not to renew it, according to Sportdrome.
