Stoke City have signed Greece left-back Kostas Stafylidis on loan from Augsburg for the rest of the season.
Stafylidis, 24, becomes the second new addition to Stoke’s squad of this window — right-back Moritz Bauer has already joined on a permanent deal from Rubin Kazan — and the first since Paul Lambert’s appointment as manager on Monday.

Stoke say they expect to complete the loan signing of Greece defender Kostas Stafylidis within the next 24 hours.
The 24-year-old former Fulham left-back is poised to join the Potters from German outfit FC Augsburg, with the formalities to be completed on Thursday.
Stafylidis will become new manager Paul Lambert’s first signing when he puts pen to paper on a loan switch for the remainder of the season.

Ralph Hasenhuttl reacts angrily after Daniel Baier’s gesture.
Augsburg captain Daniel Baier has been given a one-match ban and a €20,000 fine for his offensive gesture toward RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl on Tuesday.
With around 15 minutes left and hosts Augsburg defending a 1-0 lead, midfielder Baier went to ground close to the Leipzig technical area.
As he got up, he made an obscene gesture in the direction of Hasenhuttl and also appeared to spit in his direction.

RB Leipzig coach Ralph Hasenhuttl refused to shake hands with Daniel Baier after the Augsburg captain made an obscene gesture in his direction when the two sides met on Tuesday.

Bobby Wood and Hamburg crashed out of the DFB-Pokal at the hands of 3.Liga side Osnabruck, who played 70 minutes with 10 men. Even against 10 men from the third division, Hamburg SV couldn’t get past the German Cup’s first round.
VfL Osnabruck beat the Bundesliga side 3-1 on Sunday to repeat its 2009 feat, when it defeated Hamburg on penalties.
