The FC crew assess the use of VAR in England’s draw with Italy and whether Italy were awarded a penalty as a result of a ‘clear and obvious’ mistake.

England boss Gareth Southgate expressed doubts over a late penalty that earned Italy a draw at Wembley with the help of VAR.

James Tarkowski was adjudged to have fouled Federico Chiesa in the box and Lorenzo Insigne stepped up to cancel out Jamie Vardy’s first half goal.
Italy midfielder Federico Chiesa said he was “certain” he had been fouled for a penalty when he was challenged by England defender James Tarkowski in Tuesday’s 1-1 friendly draw at Wembley.
