BERLIN, Germany — Union Berlin’s first-ever promotion to Bundesliga has given fresh hope to a lot of football fans across Germany. Damir Kreilach joined Union Berlin in 2013 and spent more than a year as the club’s captain.
Real Salt Lake has signed Damir Kreilach from German second-tier club Union Berlin, allowing the 28-year-old midfielder to fulfill a goal of playing in the United States.
Kreilach, a former Croatia youth international who had been under contract at Union Berlin until 2019, will join Real Salt Lake immediately, the German team announced on Wednesday. The transfer fee was not disclosed.
