Western Sydney Wanderers have signed German defender Patrick Ziegler for the next three A-League seasons.
The 28-year-old has played more than 130 matches across the top two divisions of the Bundesliga, including stints at Kaiserslautern, Unterhaching and Paderborn.

Wednesday’s game between Darmstadt and Kaiserslautern was abandoned at half-time after Kaiserslautern coach Jeff Strasser required treatment in the dressing room.
The former Luxembourg international was taken to hospital for checks, Kaiserslautern said, but gave no details of his condition.

D.C. United have signed Hungary international winger Zoltan Stieber from FC Kaiserslautern, the club announced on Wednesday.
Stieber, 28, scored a goal and produced five assists in 19 league appearances with the 2. Bundesliga club last season.
“We are thrilled to be getting a high-level player in the prime of his career with top level experience in the German Bundesliga and with the Hungarian national team,” D.C. general manager Dave Kasper said in a club statement.
