The FC guys believe Manchester United and Arsenal will put it all on the line when they face off in the FA Cup fourth round.
Arsenal have activated a clause within Nacho Monreal’s contract to extend his deal until the end of next season, sources have told ESPN FC.
Monreal, 32, had entered the final year of his contract with the club, but Unai Emery said in September he wanted the left-back tied down to a new deal.
Talks over a longer-term contract have been put on hold for now, but the move means Monreal will not be leaving for nothing at the end of the season.
Several first team players are into the final six months…

Shaka Hislop explains how Arsenal’s new style under Unai Emery doesn’t suit Petr Cech and why it’s time to see Bernd Leno start for the Gunners.

Former Arsenal striker Nwankwo Kanu says that it’s up to the players to adapt to Unai Emery’s tactics.

Arsenal’s Unai Emery feels his side must work harder to cut out errors that cost them to concede two goals in their win over Cardiff. Arsenal left-back Nacho Monreal has said he is in talks with the club about a new contract, amid reports that Barcelona are interested in signing him.
Monreal has entered the last year of his current deal without agreeing an extension, but said he is not worried about his future.
“At the moment we are talking with the club,” Monreal told the Evening Standard. I’ve always said I am really happy, I feel very happy playing for Arsenal.
“I came six years ago. I have a good relationship with them. We…

Germany’s Joachim Low revealed Mesut Ozil has been blanking his phone calls since the player retired from the German national team.

Alejandro Moreno believes Arsenal has invested too much in Mesut Ozil for Unai Emery to not utilise his abilities going forward.

Arsenal’s Unai Emery insists he has not fallen out with Mesut Ozil, after the midfielder was left out for their 3-1 Premier League victory over West Ham.
Arsenal defender Nacho Monreal has defended teammate Mesut Ozil’s body language on the pitch, and said stories about a rift with Unai Emery were invented by critics.
Ozil’s performances in Arsenal’s two opening losses of the season were criticised by pundits and the German then missed the next game with a cold — sparking reports of a training ground bust-up with Emery.
But Monreal insisted there was nothing to those rumours.
“People have been a bit unfair with him,” the Spaniard said, according…

Despite Unai Emery’s fresh ideas at Arsenal, ESPN FC’s Craig Burley isn’t so sure the Gunners will secure a top four spot.

Petr Cech was the hero in Arsenal’s penalty shoot-out victory after Alexandre Lacazette’s injury-time equalizer offset Antonio Rudiger’s early goal.
Arsenal could be without a natural left-back to start the Premier League season, with Unai Emery saying Nacho Monreal is doubtful because of a knee problem.
That could leave midfielder Ainsley Maitland-Niles as Unai Emery’s only option in the left-back position against Manchester City next weekend, although the Spaniard insisted he has “great” confidence in the 20-year-old.
Monreal missed Saturday’s 2-0 win over Lazio in Stockholm, a day after fellow left-back Sead Kolasinac was ruled out for up…

The FC crew discuss the timing of Arsene Wenger’s decision to leave Arsenal, his legacy after 22 years at the club and what he will do next.

Arsenal’s squad could face a big — and according to some, much needed — overhaul this summer with the arrival of a new manager. Whoever takes up Arsene Wenger’s position will have some big decisions to make on which players to keep and which to sell as he tries to the Gunners back into title contenders.

Those decisions will, in part, be based on what type of system the new manager has in mind and which new signings he brings in during the transfer window. But here’s a prediction of which Arsenal…

Arsenal took advantage of some woeful defensive errors to brush aside Ostersunds and put one foot into the Europa League round of 16.

Arsene Wenger credits Arsenal for taking the game to a ‘nervous’ Ostersunds side and navigating the weather conditions in their comprehensive victory.
Arsenal’s Europa League campaign this season might best be described as functional. There’s been little out of the ordinary, and despite a 3-0 win in Sweden on Thursday night — their first away from home in 2018 — ordinary seems a good way to sum up the performance.
These looked like players going through the motions, and although some might point to the conditions, it was a bit cold; and the pitch, it was a bit artificial, they rarely got out of first gear. So much so that the home side, who…

Granit Xhaka’s second-half winner against Chelsea sends Arsenal through to their eighth League Cup final.
Arsenal endured a difficult opening to the their Carabao Cup semi-final second leg with Chelsea at the Emirates Wednesday evening, but came from behind to beat their London rivals 2-1, securing a place in the Wembley final against Manchester City next month.
Carelessness and poor defending allowed Eden Hazard to put the visitors ahead in the 7th minute, before Nacho Monreal’s header deflected off two Chelsea players and in for the equaliser five minutes later.
Granit Xhaka scored what turned out…
