ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol explains how Liverpool’s defence will be the key in topping Man City and ending their 30-year title drought.

Manchester City kept pace behind league-leaders Liverpool with a 3-1 win over Everton at Goodison Park.

After Liverpool’s 16th consecutive Premier League win, ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol has his say whether or not their title favourites.

Jurgen Klopp feels Liverpool were lucky to come away with a win, as he feels Sheffield United did enough to deserve a draw. Sadio Mane has denied talks of a rift with Mohamed Salah, after he was seen to be visibly angry with his Liverpool teammate during the 3-0 win over Burnley in August.
The Senegal international expressed his frustration after he was snubbed for a pass by Salah when in a threatening position, with the Egyptian forward instead going it alone before firing unsuccessful shot on goal.

ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol thinks Sadio Mane’s temper tantrum is “the reason Liverpool are so good.”
Jurgen Klopp confirmed Sadio Mane was “upset with a situation in a game” following the forward’s angry reaction during Liverpool’s 3-0 victory at Burnley, but that “everything is fine.”

Arsenal certainly have the firepower to score goals against Liverpool, but can Unai Emery get his players to organize defensively at Anfield?

David Luiz and Matteo Guendouzi’s similar hairstyles are causing all sorts of confusion in The Exploding Heads’ Liverpool vs. Arsenal preview.

Steve Nicol says that the combination of new signing Dani Ceballos with Aubameyang and Lacazette could propel Arsenal into the top four.

Arsenal begin their Premier League campaign with a second consecutive win, their first time since the 2009-10 season.

ESPN FC’s Steve Nicol has had enough of people hating on Mesut Ozil and believes he’d be an asset to D.C. United and MLS.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has said Arsenal can match Liverpool up front by starting him alongside Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe when the two sides meet at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday.
Liverpool’s attacking trio of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino combined for 69 goals and 19 assists in all competitions last season, and Aubameyang labelled them “one of the best trios in the world.”

Outside of a backup goalkeeper, a 17-year-old center-back with red hair and a 16-year-old winger, Liverpool haven’t added any new players this summer. Before acquiring free agent keeper Adrian on August 5, the club hadn’t made a single senior signing. (And since Alisson went down in the first half of the season opener vs. Norwich, Adrian’s now the starting goalkeeper until further notice.)

While the teams chasing them at the top end of the Premier League all improved in the final week of the summer…
