Lionel Messi and Barcelona were held to a scoreless draw by a resilient Olympiakos defence.

Barcelona have one foot in the Champions League knockout rounds but they’re not quite there yet after they were held to a goalless draw by Olympiakos on Tuesday.
Lionel Messi forced Silvio Proto into four decent saves and Luis Suarez hit the bar but Barca could not find a way through at the Karaiskakis Stadium.
Ernesto Valverde’s side now need one point from their final two games — away against Juventus and at home to Sporting Lisbon — to guarantee their passage into the last 16.

Gerard Deulofeu scored his first goal for Barcelona in a victory over Malaga at Camp Nou.

Gerard Deulofeu scored his first goal for Barcelona in a 2-0 victory over Malaga at Camp Nou.
Barcelona extended their unbeaten start to the La Liga season to nine games with a 2-0 win against Malaga at Camp Nou on Saturday.

Gerard Deulofeu opened the scoring in the second minute, although the goal came in controversial circumstances, with the ball having gone out of play prior to Lucas Digne delivering the assist.

Malaga, who are bottom of the table with a solitary point, never really threatened to get back into the game and the three points were sealed when Andres Iniesta’s…

The FC crew mull over whom Ernesto Valverde might target in the transfer market now that he is Barcelona’s next manager.

Pep Guardiola believes Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde is the right man to take the team to the top again.

Ernesto Valverde says he’s heard nothing but confidence that Lionel Messi and Barcelona will agree on a new contract.
It’s difficult to distinguish between fact and fiction in the transfer window, but it can be said with increasing certainty that signing Hector Bellerin, Marco Verratti and Ousmane Dembele would represent Barcelona’s dream summer — from the club’s point of view, at least.

The main problem is — and it’s quite a big obstacle — none of the three players’ respective clubs want to sell. None of them have to sell, either. And Barca’s budget, pending any sales, is likely to restrict them from…

Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta believes Lionel Messi is the best of all-time and has more natural talent than Ronaldo.
Samuel Umtiti has told L’Equipe that Barcelona would love to bring Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele to the Camp Nou this summer as they seek to close the gap on rivals Real Madrid.
Dembele, 20, moved to Dortmund less than a year ago from Rennes and enjoyed an impressive maiden season in Germany with 10 goals and 21 assists in all competitions for the Bundesliga club, helping them qualify for next season’s Champions League and win the DFB Pokal.
Given he is just a year into a five-year contract…

Barcelona produced a thrilling comeback against Eibar, but it was for naught with Real Madrid winning the title.

Barcelona produced a thrilling comeback against Eibar, but it was for naught with Real Madrid winning the title.

Barcelona won the game but it was all for naught with Real Madrid taking care of Malaga at La Rosaleda.
Barcelona came from behind to beat Eibar 4-2 on Sunday, but it was only enough to finish second in La Liga as Real Madrid beat Malaga 2-0.

Takashi Inui scored a goal in each half to manoeuvre the Basque side into a surprise two-goal lead, but Barca scored four goals in the final 27 minutes to end the campaign with a win in Luis Enrique’s final game in charge at Camp Nou.

Lionel Messi scored twice — once from the penalty spot having already missed from 12-yards — with the other…

Luis Suarez scored a spectacular, overhead kick and Lionel Messi added a brace to see off Sevilla in convincing fashion.

Luis Suarez scored a spectacular, overhead kick and Lionel Messi added a brace to see off Sevilla in convincing fashion.

Messi and Suarez were instrumental as Barcelona decimated Sevilla at the Camp Nou.

Those who braved a rare downpour in Barcelona and made it to the largely unsheltered Camp Nou were rewarded with an awesome display of attacking football as Barcelona ran out 3-0 winners over Sevilla. Nearly everything clicked for Luis Enrique’s side against Jorge Sampaoli & Co., who gave them a grueling game back in November but who have fallen apart in the past month.

Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez were at their best as they read each other’s movements to perfection, while Ivan Rakitic…

With just eight teams left in the Champions League, the FC panel reveal who they believe will emerge victorious.
With the round-of-16 second legs complete, Nick Ames picks the best Champions League XI.
Do you agree? Have your say in the comments below.

ESPN FC’s Champions League Team of the Week.
Goalkeeper — Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester)
To save one penalty in a round-of-16 tie might be regarded as useful; to save two is magnificent and although Sevilla’s Steven N’Zonzi did not give Schmeichel the hardest of jobs, the Leicester ‘keeper still had to guess correctly and anticipate the ball’s direction. It would be remiss not to point out that he had…

Barcelona kept pace at the top of La Liga with a comfortable home win over Celta Vigo.

Barcelona kept pace at the top of La Liga with a comfortable home win over Celta Vigo.

It was a day full of celebrations as Barcelona netted six times in what was their best league performance this season.
Whether he intended it or not, Luis Enrique’s revelation that he is leaving at the end of the season inspired Barca to produce their best display of the season in the league, hammering Celta Vigo 5-0 and offering up a true footballing exhibition reminiscent of the 6-1 drubbing they handed out to the Galicians last year.
Barca fans are not known for their optimism but by the end of this life-affirming performance, the Camp Nou faithful were starting to believe the team could replicate this display…

Paris Saint-Germain thrashed Barcelona at the Parc de Princes, putting Barca in dire straits heading into the second leg.

Craig Burley questions Luis Enrique’s ability as a top coach after Barca’s hammering against PSG in the Champions League.

Barcelona have had their most inconsistent season thus far, the FC crew debate if their dominance is coming to a close.
Memories of the 4-0 drubbings by Bayern Munich in 2013 and AC Milan in 1994 came rushing back as Barca endured a nightmarish 90 minutes to rival those two debacles as their worst ever European night. Luis Enrique’s side were utterly overwhelmed by Unai Emery’s men, the Spaniard enjoying a dish of revenge served extra cold after suffering so many defeats at the hands of Barca over the years. The knives will be out for Luis Enrique, not just because the coach suffered his worst defeat in a major competition,…
