Hampshire Police and Portsmouth FC have confirmed that there will be enhanced security checks in place at Fratton Park on Thursday evening.
A 22-year-old man has been arrested after making bomb threats on Twitter ahead of Thursday night’s League One playoff fixture between Portsmouth and Sunderland.
Hampshire Police released a statement on Thursday morning which said the man from Northallerton, North Yorkshire, was arrested in the early hours of Thursday morning and that he remains in custody.

Senegal defender Papy Djilobodji has been sacked by Sunderland after the defender breached his contract and failed a fitness test, the club confirmed on their official website on Wednesday.

Sunderland will end Papy Djilobodji’s contract after he was absent from the club without leave and then “comprehensively” failed a fitness test.
