Oriol Riera hit a double as Western Sydney Wanderers eased past a toothless Melbourne City 3-0. Western Sydney Wanderers’ horror A-League home run at ANZ Stadium ended with a decisive 3-0 win over finals contenders Melbourne City.
An Oriel Riera brace and a classy Mitchell Duke finish on Saturday snapped a seven-match losing streak at the venue for Wanderers, whose last win there was back on April 7 last year.
The result keeps City in fifth spot, though they could potentially drop a place by the end of the round and keep the eighth-placed Wanderers’ faint finals hopes alive.

Markus Babbel has broadened his criticism at losing three players to the Olyroos program, describing it as a disaster for Western Sydney Wanderers and detrimental to Australian football.
The Wanderers will be without midfielder Keanu Baccus, attacker Abraham Majok and defender Tass Mourdoukoutas for Sunday’s A-League match against Wellington because they are attending a week-long camp for the Australian under-23 team in Kuala Lumpur.
Babbel believes club coaches will become increasingly reluctant…

Tarek Elrich scored a dramatic 95th minute equaliser as the Wanderers finished their final game at Spotless Stadium with a draw.
A last-gasp goal from Tarek Elrich gave Western Sydney a share of the points against A-League leaders Perth in their final game at Spotless Stadium.
It appeared Chris Ikonomidis’ first-half goal would be enough to ensure Tony Popovic’s first return to Wanderland was a triumphant one. However Elrich gave a long-suffering crowd of 7,181 reason to cheer when he struck home from long-range in the 94th minute on Sunday.
