Perth Glory extend their unbeaten run to 10 games as they increase their lead at the top of the A-League.

The Western Sydney Wanderers claim back-to-back wins for first time since February 2018.

Central Coast Mariners found themselves the leaders at halftime but couldn’t keep it as Sydney hit back in the second half.

The Newcastle Jets scored two fantastic second half goals to zoom away from Melbourne City.

Wellington Phoenix scored first against the run of play before a Keisuke Honda penalty meant the two sides would share the points.
Perth Glory defender Matthew Spiranovic will barely recognise a face when he returns to his former stomping ground in Sunday’s clash with Western Sydney.
Spiranovic played with the Wanderers for two seasons between 2013-15, helping the club win the AFC Champions League in 2014.
But almost the entire Western Sydney squad has changed since Spiranovic departed, with only a sprinkling of familiar faces left.
Wanderers captain Brendan Hamill is one of the few players who have remained.

Western Sydney Wanderers celebrate against Adelaide United.
An inspired Western Sydney Wanderers stunned fourth-placed Adelaide United with a 3-1 A-League victory at Coopers Stadium on Saturday.
The visitors, who absorbed a fair amount of pressure in both halves from the home side, were clinical going forward.
Roly Bonevacia was the Wanderers’ best player, setting up the opener, scoring the second and supplying the assist for the third.
Adelaide enjoyed decent spells of possession and territory but barely threatened.

Western Sydney Wanderers recorded their first win in two months with a 2-0 win over Central Coast.

Jamie MacLaren’s equaliser was enough for Melbourne City to secure a point in a tight encounter with Adelaide United.

A late goal to Dylan Wenzel-Halls has given the Brisbane Roar a 2-1 win over Sydney FC at Suncorp Stadium.
Western Sydney coach Markus Babbel admits being surprised by some of the reaction to his public criticism of his underperforming playing group this season.
So for the first time this summer, he brought it up with his players last week.
“What they think [about] why I criticised them in public. The reaction [from the] media was strange, or they couldn’t understand why I’m doing this,” Babbel said.

Western Sydney’s A-League season of woe slumped to a new low after being embarrassed 5-1 on home soil by a ruthless Newcastle.
Jets striker Roy O’Donovan claimed a brace, while Dimi Petratos, Jason Hoffman and Matthew Ridenton also made it onto the scoresheet on Friday night inside the opening hour. Mitchell Duke pulled one back 19 seconds into his Wanderers debut, but that was all the home fans could cheer for in a yet another sorry display.
The five goals are the most the Wanderers have conceded…

Ritchie de Laet equalised in the 84th minute, and then Melbourne City seized all three points in injury time.
Western Sydney Wanderers coach Markus Babbel has seen it happen all too often this season, but his side’s latest A-League implosion was no easier to stomach.
This time it was poor discipline and a lack of concentration in key moments against Melbourne City that proved pivotal in a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat at AAMI Park on Tuesday night.
The performance continued a frustrating run of losses that has now stretched to six matches.
“It’s normal for me, every week is the same, what can I say? The game…

Melbourne City’s Bart Schenkeveld scored an injury time winner to stun 10-man Western Sydney Wanderers 4-3 in a pulsating A-League encounter at AAMI Park.
The Wanderers trailed 2-1 at half-time on Tuesday night but goals to Tass Mourdoukoutas and Jaushua Sotirio gave the visitors a surprise 3-2 lead. But Markus Babbel’s side were reduced to 10 men in the 66th minute when Keanu Baccus was given his marching orders after being shown a second yellow card for an ill-timed tackle.
