James Milner dispatched a late penalty after Virgil van Dijk’s mistake had gifted Fulham an equalizer.

Virgil van Dijk and James Milner discuss the errors that led to Fulham’s goal and how Milner stayed composed for the winning penalty.

Liverpool needed a late James Milner penalty to win a game they completely dominated from start to finish. Wastefulness in front of goal and a moment of madness at the back threatened to inflict a huge blow to their title chances, but the veteran Milner held his nerve to send Jurgen Klopp’s side back to the top of the table.

Positives
The three points. Liverpool would never have forgiven themselves if they’d somehow not won this game.

Negatives
Mohamed Salah’s quest for that elusive 50th goal…

The guys respond to your tweets about Liverpool’s win over PSG, including Salah’s struggles, assigning blame for PSG and comparing the two No. 9s.
Liverpool outplayed PSG from start to finish but needed a stoppage-time winner from substitute Roberto Firmino to spare their blushes after they somehow blew a 2-0 lead. With the French side their most likely rivals to top the group, Firmino’s last-gasp strike could prove crucial.
Positives
The overall performance suggests that the Merseysiders are well-equipped to make their mark on Europe again this year. PSG are one of the top sides in the competition but they were distinctly second-best throughout.
Negatives

Goal-line technology keeps Liverpool’s wining streak to five games unbeaten in the Premier League.
The scoreline doesn’t tell the story as Liverpool should have won this game by four or five. They were uncharacteristically wasteful in attack but defended well enough to see it through despite a nervy last couple of minutes after Erik Lamela’s stoppage-time strike gave the home side some hope.
Positives
Liverpool haven’t yet gotten anywhere the heights they reached at times last season but they’ve won five out of five thanks in no small part to how well they have defended as a team. The Reds’ front…

Steve Nicol remains impressed with Liverpool’s defensive composure, in a victory where the attack wasn’t firing on all cylinders.

Liverpool squeezed past a valiant Brighton at Anfield to go top of the Premier League thanks to a Mohamed Salah goal.

Virgil van Dijk and James Milner reflect on Liverpool’s gritty 1-0 win over Brighton, at Anfield.
When Brighton’s Pascal Gross snuck in between Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez to meet a cross in the closing minutes at Anfield on Saturday, with Liverpool leading 1-0, Reds’ supporters could be forgiven for thinking they’d seen this movie before and that it doesn’t have a happy ending.
In recent years, Liverpool have made a habit of throwing away narrow leads against inferior opponents. It wasn’t that they gave up many chances, it’s just that seemingly every chance they did allow ended up in the…

Liverpool were made to work for it by the resolute visitors but they held on to take full advantage of Manchester City’s slip up at Wolves earlier in the day. For much of the game it looked too easy for Jurgen Klopp’s side but when they failed to add to Mohamed Salah’s first-half strike, it began to get a little edgy; needing a fantastic late save from Alisson to preserve the three points.

Positives
Another clean sheet and another three points. Liverpool dropped far too many points in fixtures…

Mohamed Salah opened the scoring in the 19th minute and Sadio Mane added two more goals as Liverpool went on to win 4-0 against West Ham.
Liverpool lived up to all of the preseason hype by swatting West Ham aside with the minimum of fuss. Jurgen Klopp’s men dominated from start to finish and just had far too much for the Londoners. Two goals from Sadio Mane added to further strikes from Mohamed Salah and Daniel Sturridge ensured a victory that was about as comfortable as it gets.

Positives
Too many to mention, but Salah and Mane getting straight back among the goals is exactly what Liverpool needed. A clean sheet for Alisson on…

The guys respond to your tweets about Paulo Dybala, the best player at the World Cup so far and the best player the guys ever played against.
The ink had barely dried on Harry Wilson’s new five year contract when reports emerged of Liverpool opening talks with Stoke City  over the signing of Swiss forward Xherdan Shaqiri.
The arrival of Shaqiri would severely restrict any first team opportunities Wilson might have had this season, so it’s safe to assume the young Welshman was fully aware of it before he signed a new deal and that a plan is in place for his future development. That plan almost certainly involves another…

Spain’s Marco Asensio revealed he will only talk about his club future after the World Cup and that he is fully focused on doing his best for the national side.
As far as Monday mornings go, it wasn’t bad was it? There can be few better ways for Liverpool fans to begin the week than waking up to news of Mohamed Salah penning a new five-year contract.
Just reward for a phenomenal first season at the club from a man who supporters lovingly refer to as “The Egyptian King.” Hopefully this means a break from all the tiresome rumours about Real Madrid or Barcelona being primed to snatch him away.
While there will always be a risk of that happening,…

Gab Marcotti and Stewart Robson examine the styles of Real Madrid and Liverpool and how they combine to set up a potentially thrilling UCL final.

Sadio Mane explains why Liverpool will have nothing to fear when they face Real Madrid in the Champions League final.

As Liverpool head to Kiev, a look behind the scenes at Anfield as Salah meets Lampard, van Djik nutmegs Lovren and ESPN meets Wijnaldum.
Only a tiny percentage of Liverpool’s fan base will be in Kiev for Saturday’s Champions League final against Real Madrid. The rest will be sat in front of their televisions at home or in various bars and open air venues watching on big screens. Many will even be at Anfield.
Reaching a European Cup final is a pretty big deal, unless you follow Real Madrid in which case it’s an annual event. For everyone else, these occasions should be savoured as they don’t come around too often, although for Liverpool…

After locking up a top-four spot, Liverpool legend Steve Nicol breaks down their routine win over Brighton and the Reds’ season as a whole.

Fears that Liverpool might continue to make hard work of securing their place in the Premier League top four were swept away fairly quickly as the Reds tore into Brighton from the start. They led 2-0 at half-time, but it should have been five or six. Two more goals were added after the break as Jurgen Klopp’s signed off their season in style with a 4-0 win.

Positives

It was vitally important that the team performed well and showed that the last few lacklustre performances were merely a…
