Liga MX club Morelia has issued an apology for its women’s team’s coach Filadelfo Rangel remarks after the side’s 0-0 draw with Necaxa on Friday.
When explaining his team’s failure to finish chances, Rangel suggested that it had to do with women being more “indecisive.”
“It’s because of indecision,” said Rangel in the postgame press conference. “The indecision of women. It’s like in life, they are more indecisive than men in taking decisions.”

Former Chivas coach Matias Almeyda has had talks with Costa Rica about coaching their national team and said he has not had any other formal approaches.
Almeyda has declared his interest in managing Mexico and his native Argentina and has also been linked with Paraguay, but it appears Costa Rica has the upper hand.

French striker Andre-Pierre Gignac has rejected an approach from Ligue 1’s Monaco and reiterated his desire to retire with Liga MX side Tigres.
Gignac confirmed that there had been an approach from Monaco, but said if he one day returned to France it would be to play for former team Marseille.
“There was contact, but Monaco is a club that buys youngsters so they develop to sell them on later, like the cases of [Kylian] Mbappe or [Thomas] Lemar,” Gignac said in an interview with Guru Deportivo. “I…

Andre-Pierre Gignac has become the face of Liga MX and would be a sure-fire All-Star.
The prospect of a MLS versus Liga MX All-Star showdown will go from a debate to a reality at some point in the future, with both leagues having committed to a game between the two further down the line.
On Wednesday, it is Juventus’ turn to face an MLS All-Star side led by Gerardo “Tata” Martino, but as the rivalry grows between North America’s two biggest leagues — as seen in last season’s CONCACAF Champions League – the debate over which league would have the strongest All-Star side provides…

Tigres manager Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti has ruled himself out of the Mexico national team manager’s job, after rumors in recent days suggested he was the Mexican federation’s (FMF) top candidate.
“There’s already been intents and stuff,” said Ferretti in a press conference on Monday. “A person, I’m not going to say who, approached and I told them, ‘Thanks a lot but no.’ The end.”
Ferretti stated earlier this month that the job wouldn’t be of interest, but since then Juan Carlos Osorio has made his…

De Laurentiis admitted his club’s interest in Ochoa on Tuesday while discussing the dilemma of each Serie A club only being allowed three non-European Union players. The rule threatens to squash deals to bring Ochoa in from Standard Liege and full-back Santiago Arias from PSV Eindhoven.
But the Italian club appear to have set their sights on France-born Bordeaux…

Help clear the path to first-team minutes for young Mexican players, or let the development process run its natural course? It’s the question that was blown open by Tigres coach Ricardo Ferretti after the first round of 2018 Apertura matches last weekend.

A quick recap: Ferretti, perhaps the most respected coach in Liga MX, claimed that he can’t guarantee that his club will fulfill Liga MX’s new youngsters rule, which was implemented to ensure that clubs hand 765 minutes this Apertura to players…
