Former Chelsea striker Didier Drogba announced his retirement on Wednesday, calling time on a 20-year career in which the bullish centre forward won four Premier League titles and the 2012 Champions League.

Didier Drogba pitched in with a late assist and a winning goal as his Phoenix Rising side narrowly beat LA Galaxy II  in the United Soccer League on Friday evening.
The Ivorian veteran provided the corner for Phoenix’s 71st-minute equaliser, but not before taking a swig from a bottle of water belonging to one of the ball boys at pitchside.
