Mix Diskerud is back with IFK Goteborg after signing for Manchester City.
Following his surprise signing for Manchester City, U.S. international Mix Diskerud has returned to train with Swedish club IFK Goteborg, where he’ll be joined by another American, Jack McInerney.
Diskerud started 29 games at IFK during the 2017 season, scoring five goals, while on loan from New York City FC.
Last week, he formalised a move to City, NYCFC’s sister club, on a four-and-a-half-year contract, though he is not expected to ever play or even train with the Premier League leaders.

Cyle Larin’s volley in stoppage time lifted Orlando City past LA Galaxy for their fourth-straight win at their new stadium. The LA Galaxy claimed forward Jack McInerney off waivers from the Portland Timbers on Tuesday.
McInerney has scored 43 goals while playing for four teams in his Major League Soccer career.
He was drafted by Philadelphia in 2010 and scored 24 goals for the club before getting traded to Montreal in 2014. He also played for Columbus before joining Portland last season.

PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland Timbers have waived forward Jack McInerney.
The 24-year-old appeared in 24 matches for Portland last season, including eight starts, and had five goals. It was his lone season with the Timbers.
“I really enjoyed working with Jack. He’s a good player, a good professional, but you have to make these decisions sometimes, and ultimately we felt it was the right one,” coach Caleb Porter said.
The move will help the Timbers free up salary cap space to sign a center-back.
