A double from Hulk led Shanghai SIPG’s rout of Carlos Tevez’s Shanghai Shenhua side.

Hulk netted this strike outside the box to earn a brace and lead Shanghai SIPG’s 6-0 rout over Shanghai Shenhua.
Hulk and Wu Lei scored twice as Shanghai SIPG crushed Shanghai Shenhua 6-1 on Saturday evening to close the gap on Chinese Super League leaders Guangzhou Evergrande to five points.
Carlos Tevez was on the scoresheet for Shenhua, who saw Gus Poyet resign from his position as head coach at the start of the week, but the Argentinian was unable to stop a rampant SIPG from notching up a convincing win.
After a goalless first half, three goals in four minutes just before the hour mark from Hulk, Wu and…

Andre Villas-Boas is now three games without a win as Shanghai SIPG boss.
Shanghai SIPG failed to win for a third game in a row as they were held to a 0-0 draw by Tianjin Quanjian that leaves them three points adrift of Chinese Super League leaders Guangzhou Evergrande.
Andre Villas-Boas’ SIPG side went into the game needing a win to restore the one-point deficit that existed between the teams going into the weekend, but a failure to score against the third-placed side means Evergrande have extended their advantage at the summit.

Wasteful finishing cost both Newcastle Jets and Melbourne Victory the chance of a valuable win. Newcastle don’t expect Chinese Super League club Liaoning Whowin to table an offer for Ma Leilei, amid speculation the import could leave the A-League just as he’s prospering.
Ma signed for the Jets in October — before coach Mark Jones had even seen him play — to satisfy new owner Martin Lee’s desire to have a Chinese player on his club’s books.
With practically no first-team football experience in three years, the 27-year-old attacker was expected to struggle.
But the former Tianjin Teda man has…
