Chicago Fire star Nemanja Nikolic said Saturday that he is leaving the team after three seasons.
Nikolic made the announcement on his Facebook page. He is the second-leading goal scorer (51) in franchise history and played in 96 games for the club.
The 31-year-old Serbian didn’t reveal his future plans with his statement focusing on his farewell and being a synopsis of his time in Chicago.

Nemanja Nikolic netted his league-leading 24th goal of the season to lift Chicago to a 3-2 win over Philadelphia.
Chicago Fire striker Nemanja Nikolic has won the MLS Golden Boot with 24 goals in his first season in the league.
Nikolic made a late surge to score the most goals in the league, surpassing New York City FC’s David Villa, who led the race most of the season and finished second with 22 goals.
Portland’s Diego Valeri finished third with 21, while Atlanta’s Josef Martinez scored 19 and Montreal’s Ignacio Piatti had 17.

MLS leading scorer Nemanja Nikolic added two goals to his season tally to help the Chicago Fire thrash the Vancouver Whitecaps 4-0 on Saturday.
