Minnesota United has picked up former Seattle Sounders captain Osvaldo Alonso off waivers, the club confirmed on Thursday.

TORONTO — Seattle Sounders midfielder Osvaldo Alonso has been ruled out of this weekend’s MLS Cup final after failing a fitness test on Thursday afternoon, MLSsoccer.com reports.

The Seattle Sounders lost Osvaldo Alonso and Roman Torres to injury in the team’s 3-0 win over the Vancouver Whitecaps on Wednesday.
