Haji Wright was called into training camp for the USMNT prior to the Gold Cup and also took part in a camp for the U.S. U-23 side.
U.S. youth international forward Haji Wright has secured a transfer from Schalke to Dutch side VVV Venlo, the Bundesliga club announced on Friday.
Schalke say they reached a collaborative agreement with Wright’s new club. Wright had one year remaining on his contract and club sources say the deal includes a buy-back option.

Werder Bremen loannee Lennart Thy in action for VVV Venlo in the Eredivisie.
VENLO, Netherlands — German forward Lennart Thy will miss a week’s training with VVV Venlo and the Dutch side’s next league game in order to help a leukemia patient.
The club says Thy, who is on loan from German side Werder Bremen, requested the week off so he can donate blood to enable doctors to generate stem cells that could make a transplant possible for a leukemia patient and possibly save their life.
The 26-year-old Thy found out last week he has a full DNA-match with a particular patient….

Kelechi Nwakali joined Arsenal in the summer of 2016.
Arsenal have sent teenage midfielder Kelechi Nwakali on loan to Dutch club VVV-Venlo for the season.
Nwakali, 19, joined the Gunners last summer but has yet to earn a work permit to play in England and spent last season on loan at Maastricht, for whom he made 30 appearances.
He helped lead Nigeria to the Under-17 World Cup in Chile in 2015, being named the best player of the tournament.
An Arsenal statement said: “We wish Kelechi well for his upcoming season in Holland.”
