U.S. youth international forward Haji Wright has secured a transfer from Schalke to Dutch side VVV Venlo, the Bundesliga club announced on Friday.
Schalke say they reached a collaborative agreement with Wright’s new club. Wright had one year remaining on his contract and club sources say the deal includes a buy-back option.

Schalke have sent United States youth international Haji Wright on loan to German second-tier club Sandhausen.
Wright, who joined Schalke from New York Cosmos in 2016, will spend the 2017-18 season with Sandhausen.

United States youth international Haji Wright scored four goals in just 16 minutes for Schalke in their 9-1 win over sixth-tier side SpVgg Erkenschwick.

New Schalke coach Domenico Tedesco has said U.S. youth internationals Haji Wright and Weston McKennie are part of the club’s plans for next season but need to prove themselves.

Schalke academy coach Norbert Elbert thinks United States youth internationals Haji Wright and Weston McKinnie can develop into first-team pros if they continue to apply themselves.
