Antoine Griezmann is currently enduring his longest goal drought since joining Atletico Madrid in 2014.
Atletico Madrid defender Juanfran says Antoine Griezmann should remain “relaxed” despite being substituted again on Saturday, although the forward’s brother has questioned Diego Simeone’s tactics on Twitter.
Griezmann — Atletico’s top scorer in each of the last three seasons — has scored just three goals in all competitions for the club this season and is on a seven-game goal drought.
With 10 minutes remaining on Saturday and the game at Deportivo La Coruna still scoreless, Simeone surprisingly…

Following their back-to-back draws against Qarabag, the ESPN FC panel question if Atletico Madrid’s UCL dominance is done.
Thomas Partey’s last-gasp free kick ensured Atletico Madrid’s week did not take another turn for the worse as they squeaked past Deportivo La Coruna 1-0 on Saturday.

It had been one of the least memorable games of the season thus far on the north-eastern coast of Spain, with neither side looking like scoring. That was until Lucas Hernandez broke forward two minutes into stoppage time before being felled on the edge of the box.

With Gabi and Nicolas Gaitan standing over it, Depor were caught…

An injury time goal by substitute Michy Batshuayi gave the visitors a stunning 2-1 win.

Atletico Madrid rarely concede at home, which makes Chelsea’s 2-1 away win all the more impressive to the FC crew
Atletico Madrid got exactly what they deserved when they shipped a late goal to Chelsea, going down 2-1 at home in the first ever European game at the new Wanda Metropolitano.

Atleti were second best throughout, and despite taking the lead, never looked comfortable as Eden Hazard dominated the game. Having been pegged back to 1-1 they then failed to see out the game and now have an uphill struggle to even get out of the group.

Atletico Madrid moved into third place in La Liga after a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad ahead of this weekend’s Madrid derby.

Atletico Madrid moved into third place in La Liga after a 1-0 win over Real Sociedad ahead of this weekend’s Madrid derby.

Atletico has now won five straight and head to the Bernabeu to face rival Real playing some of their best football.
Atletico Madrid’s new-found goal machine Filipe Luis secured a harder than necessary 1-0 victory at home to Real Sociedad on Tuesday night.

Fernando Torres then somehow contrived to hit the post and hit into the side-netting when presented twice with an open goal moments later.

Yannick Carrasco and Angel Correa were also guilty of missing chances, but Atletico comfortably held on to all but seal Champions League football again next season.

A fan celebrates getting De Bruyne’s shirt, Messi has a motorcade in Egypt and more in The Sweeper.
Juanfran says speculation linking him with Barcelona is “not easy” but insists he’s only focusing on Deportivo La Coruna’s league game at Leganes on Saturday.
Rules in Spain would permit Barca to make an emergency signing after they were left without right-back Aleix Vidal for the rest of the season.
Local reports say Juanfran has emerged as the Catalan club’s top target, but the former Real Madrid player is keeping his mind on this weekend’s match, which pits the two clubs immediately above the…

Juanfran has been linked with a move to Barcelona.
Deportivo La Coruna defender Luisinho has said teammate Juanfran “should not be able to leave” amid continued reports of interest from Barcelona.
Barca have until the beginning of March to decide whether they want to sign a right-back to replace the injured Aleix Vidal, who will miss the rest of the season with a dislocated ankle.
Although the transfer window has closed, rules in Spain would enable them to bring in a player on an emergency basis.
“Juanfran shouldn’t be able to leave, given that…
