Johnson thwarted a shot by Toronto midfielder Alejandro Pozuelo, who converted a penalty kick earlier in the contest. The save, one of four by Johnson, helped NYCFC (15-5-9, 54 points) stretch its unbeaten streak to six games (5-0-1) and increase its Eastern Conference lead to three points over the Philadelphia Union.

Two goals from Angelo Rodríguez helped Minnesota defeat NYCFC 2-1 and keep its playoff hopes alive.
New York City FC made a move to keep their defensive core intact, signing midfielder Alexander Ring, defender Alexander Callens and goalkeeper Sean Johnson to new multi-year contracts on Thursday.
Neither financial terms nor exact length of the deals were disclosed, though the team’s release confirmed the trio will remain with NYCFC “for 2019 and beyond.”
