Andre and Jordan Ayew are set to end their year-long absence from the Black Stars squad after Ghana coach Kwesi Appiah named the duo in the West Africans’ Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Ethiopia.
The brothers are among 20 players called up for the game in Addis Ababa on November 18.
They’ve not played for the national side since the 1-1 draw against Congo-Brazzaville in a World Cup qualifier in September 2017, having opted out of the return match.
Captain Asamoah Gyan, who also hasn’t played…

Ghana’s record goalscorer Asamoah Gyan will return to international duty for the Black Stars in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone, but there are no places in the squad for the Ayew brothers.
Gyan is part of a 23-man squad released by Ghana boss Kwesi Appiah for the mid-October games, despite a season spent largely on the bench at Turkish side Kayserispor. He has played just 35 minutes of club football this season but is one of four forwards named in the side….

Christian Atsu at Newcastle, Jordan Ayew at Swansea City, his brother Andre at West Ham United,…

Mubarak Wakaso has been recalled by Ghana for their final World Cup qualifier against Egypt, but there is still no place for the Ayew brothers, Andre and Jordan, in Kwesi Appiah’s squad.
Columbus Crew defender Jonathan Mensah has also been dropped from the 23-man selection for the game in Cape Coast on November 12th.
With Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey suspended for the game because of two yellow cards, Wakaso has been handed a recall for the first time since Appiah replaced Avram Grant…

The FC crew examine the relegation battle in the Premier League after Swansea’s triumph and Hull City’s flop.

In last Saturday’s minor miracle, Swansea traded places with Hull and escaped the drop zone, leaving the Welsh club in control of their own destiny with two matches to play. The last time Swansea were in this position, they blew a chance to pull away from trouble by lapsing into a six-game winless streak. This time there should be no such collapse, and a win over Sunderland this Saturday could finally confirm Swansea’s survival.

David Moyes’ already-relegated side pulled off a significant upset…
