Seattle Sounders sign Peru forward Raul Ruidiaz as designated player

Clint Dempsey scored his first goal of the season and tied the franchise record of 47 regular-season goals as the Sounders tied the Fire 1-1.
The Seattle Sounders completed the signing of Raul Ruidiaz on Friday, after the forward finished playing at the World Cup with Peru.
Ruidiaz’s acquisition had been long anticipated, with the 27-year-old’s previous club, Mexico’s Morelia, announcing his departure to MLS two weeks ago. He will be able to make his MLS debut after the secondary transfer window opens on July 10..
