After losing to Brazil in the last 16 Mexico fans pull off their best Neymar impressions.
Tigres manager Ricardo “Tuca” Ferretti isn’t guaranteeing to fulfill the Liga MX’s new minor rule and hinted his club may just take the three-point penalty instead.
Liga MX brought in a rule stating each club must give under-21 players at least 765 minutes of playing time during the current Apertura regular season, which would rise to 1000 by the 2019 Clausura. The idea is to hand more Mexican youngsters more opportunities in a league that has seen a rise in foreigners.

Can Pedro Caixinha lead Cruz Azul to its first Liga MX title since 1997?
The new Liga MX season is upon us and we asked our Mexico writers to predict how the season would shake out.
Who will win the league?
Tom Marshall: Tigres. They are the best team, have had a full preseason behind them and have Argentine Guido Pizarro back. Liga MX’s system means the strongest side doesn’t always lift the trophy, but Tigres are undoubtedly the team to beat. Again.
Cesar Hernandez: Monterrey. The additions of Jesus Gallardo and Rodolfo Pizarro — and new manager Diego…

Alan Pulido reacts during Chivas’ CONCACAF Champions League match against the New York Red Bulls.

Chivas kick off the 2018 Apertura in very different shape than fans would’ve hoped for and expected 14 months ago, when the Guadalajara club hoisted title No. 12 to make it a league and cup double in the 2017 Clausura.

The championship was supposed to herald a brighter future for the side, closing the book on relegation problems and providing evidence that an all-Mexican squad could compete for titles in an increasingly foreigner-dominated Liga MX.

“It means the end and the beginning,” Chivas…
