It is hard to believe but the United States national team is just weeks away from gearing up for a busy summer of international soccer, which includes a pair of CONCACAF World Cup qualifiers in early June and then the Gold Cup in July.

MLS is back, and so is the U.S. men’s national team Hot List.

With Bruce Arena expected to name his 23-25-man roster for this month’s pivotal World Cup qualifiers against in the middle of next week, the U.S. coach will have just one more round of games (in Europe, Mexico and in the domestic league) to decide which players he will call up and put on the field in the matches against Honduras and Panama.

So which Americans are helping their case the most based on their recent club performances?…

Santos Laguna’s Jorge Villafana is joining up with the U.S. national team ahead of their Sunday friendly against Serbia.
CARSON, Calif. — Santos Laguna left-back Jorge Villafana has been added to the U.S. roster for its training camp ahead of this weekend’s friendly against Serbia.
The 27-year-old has never played for the national team. He was with Chivas USA from 2007-13 and Portland from 2014-15.
Villafana’s addition was announced on Wednesday.
