Santos Laguna’s Jorge Villafana is joining up with the U.S. national team ahead of their Sunday friendly against Serbia.
CARSON, Calif. — Santos Laguna left-back Jorge Villafana has been added to the U.S. roster for its training camp ahead of this weekend’s friendly against Serbia.
The 27-year-old has never played for the national team. He was with Chivas USA from 2007-13 and Portland from 2014-15.
Villafana’s addition was announced on Wednesday.
Twenty-nine players are in camp ahead of Sunday’s game in San Diego, the first for the U.S. since Bruce Arena returned for his second stint as coach after replacing Jurgen…
